Kreatin kann auch den Aufbau von Muskelmasse unterstützen, hauptsächlich indirekt.
Es kann helfen, das Trainingsvolumen zu erhöhen, die Leistung in bestimmten Sätzen zu verbessern, eine bessere Kraftentwicklung zu fördern und muskuläre Anpassungen zu unterstützen. Es kann auch zu einer Zunahme des intrazellulären Wassers in den Muskeln führen, was dem Muskel ein "volleres" Aussehen verleihen kann.
Man muss jedoch klarstellen: Kreatin baut nicht von selbst Muskeln auf. Es ersetzt weder Training, Ernährung noch eine ausreichende Proteinzufuhr. Es wirkt vielmehr als Leistungsunterstützung, was den Fortschritt auf lange Sicht erleichtern kann.
